ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for compassionate, dedicated female Bank Support Workers to join our night team. You will provide person-centred care to adults with a range of needs, supporting them to live full, independent lives in line with their own choices, preferences, and goals.
This is a night-based role. Shifts are worked overnight and include both waking nights and sleep-ins, scheduled according to service need.
Being female is a genuine occupational requirement (GOR) for this post under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This is because of the personal care nature of the role and the specific preferences and needs of the people we support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver safe, high quality, person-centred care that respects each individual's preferences, goals, and dignity.
- Support service users with daily living activities, encouraging independence and informed decision making.
- Promote inclusion, empowerment, and the right to take controlled, positive risks.
- Help individuals work towards their personal ambitions, building confidence and practical skills.
- Assist with household tasks to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
- Administer or prompt medication safely and accurately, in line with care plans and organisational policy.
- Maintain clear, accurate records: including daily notes, medication records, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with service users, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Work flexibly across waking nights and sleep in shifts as required by the service.
- Follow all safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements, and mandatory training obligations.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
You must meet all of the following to be considered:
- Female (GOR under the Equality Act 2010 — see above).
- Experience supporting people in health, social care, or community settings.
- Availability to work night shifts, including waking nights and sleep-ins.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to complete CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training before starting, or existing CPI certification.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Not essential, but these will strengthen your application:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 3).
- Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs or behaviours of concern.
- Previous experience in specialist or complex care settings.
